Slightly stylized in the Ife/Benin style of West African Niger Valley civilization. Commissioned for the Margaret Walker Day at Jackson State University and featured in EBONY magazine.
Jackson, Mississippi visual artist/art historian, Pan-Africanist, Harold S. Dorsey graduated from Arkansas AM&N College (now The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 1960 and studied there under Art Professor John Howard. Dorsey taught art at Prairie View A&M University for 20 years before retiring in 2008.
